The Sean Jones Project(s)
The Sean Jones Project(s)
One thing I have resisted over the years is self-promotion. I’m not comfortable with it, I don’t like to do it and I’m lazy. Of course, there comes a time when you need to stop making excuses and just do it, so that’s what this site is: stuff I do, stuff I have done, stuff I’m thinking of doing, mostly regarding my musical “career”, such that it is, and my work with computers.
So which Sean Jones am I? I’m not this former NFL player. Nor this current one. I’m not a renowned jazz trumpeter. Nor am I the Canadian singer. I’m a guy that lives in the midwest with his wife and three cats. I play a bunch of instruments, some of them passably well, and am an active musician with a local and national resume. I am also an IT-Consultant for Stamm Technologies who is back in school working on my Masters in Computer Science, researching Natural Language Processing and Text Retrieval, or how to make computers understand our very vague human speech. I serve on an advisory board for the Milwaukee Area Technical College’s IT and Networking division. I speak Japanese and Spanish, both at a very modest proficiency. I am an officer at UW-Milwaukee’s Game Development and Design Club.
