Bannerfish and Idols

Idols look a little like the bannerfish, but actually closer related

to the surgeonfishes; idols are usually seen singly or in pairs.

Schooling Bannerfish

Heniochus diphreutes

Genus Heinochus, within the family of Butterflyfish.  Often at the reef wall, schooling with other fish such as the Red-toothed Triggerfish.

Phantom Bannerfish

Heniochus pleurotaenia

Usually seen singly or in pairs.
